Nassfeld is the most southernly ski resort in Austria, nestling in the province of Carinthia close to the Italian border. Nassfeld holds a number of records. It boasts the longest Gondola lift (the three stage Millennium express) which is 4 kms long. It has the longest floodlit ski run in Europe at 2.2 km in length. On top of this, it also has the largest ski area in Austria. So if this is not three good reasons why you should consider Nassfeld ski holidays, then I don't know what is.

The resort has a nearly equal split between beginners and intermediates with 20 blue runs and 19 red runs which between them clock up a distance of 99 kms. There are also 4 expert black runs totalling a distance of 11 kms. There are 30 ski lifts able to transport over 44,000 people every hour all serving the 37 individual pistes. On the rare occasion that no snow has fallen, then Nassfeld has over 220 snow machines to make sure that your ski holiday goes according to plan.

Let us not forget the 55 ha of natural ice sheet at Lake Pressegg. Quiet impressive!!!

The resort opens 03rd December 2011 and closes on the 15th April 2012.

About The Village

The majority of dining options are based in and around Nassfeld hotels where there are a number of top class restaurants including "Stube" the highest 2 starred Michelin restaurant in the world. If you are after some "apres ski" action, then most of it is centred round the Barrenhute (near the Millennium Express lift station) where you can party the night away. The Cube Hotel boasts its own nightclub, which is also very popular.
