San Martino di Castrozza ski holidays whisks you away to a winter wonderland that is located right on the eastern edge of the Trentino dolomites with simply breathtaking scenery. San Martino is one of 12 different areas that comprise the Dolomiti Superski Circuit and with its pistes above 2500 metres is normally guaranteed good snow cover.
San Martino is divided into three main areas, two of which are linked and has over 60 kms of slopes between 1404 and 2357 metres serviced by a combination of 25 ski lifts, 15 chairlifts, 7 drag lifts, one cable car and 2 coupling cabin lifts, which together are capable of uplifting 3,000 people per hour. In the unlikely even that there is not enough snow, San Martino's snowmaking facilities are able to cover two thirds of the slopes.
This resort is well suited to skiers of all abilities with much of the terrain offering a great variety of easy and intermediate runs. There is an excellent ski school which has been in operation since 1932 and has over 100 instructors on hand to help you learn or improve your skills. There are only a few black trails for advanced skiers who will benefit from heading off piste with a guide.
Alternatively, if they purchase a pass for the Dolomiti Superski Area they will gain access to neighbouring areas, and enjoy the best that San Martino has to offer. Cross country skiers have access to 30 kms of well signed trails for classic technique and skating. These take in some beautiful scenery, going through the National Park itself. Snowboarders will also enjoy the conditions here and will have no difficulty in finding powdery snow, humps and natural jumps.
