Lyžování Alpe d'Huez

Built above the original village of Huez, Alpe d'Huez is one of the world's top ski resorts, and not without reason. The resort is part of the Grandes Rousses ski area and boasts some of the finest slopes around. These are some of the many reasons why Alpe d'Huez ski holidays are so popular.

The ski resort is fabulous for all levels and abilities, from its plentiful gentle nursery slopes to its 16 km Sarenne run (the longest black run in the world). Novices and intermediates get 32 and 34 runs respectively, whilst experts get to choose from 16 black runs, including the aforementioned Sarenne run. There are also 41 beginner slopes here. As well as the slopes there are also 50 kms of cross country ski trails if you fancy a change of scene. There are 85 cutting edge ski lifts which can transport over 94,000 skiers to their various slopes and the highest lift takes you up to a spectacular 3300 metres. It is said that if you look out from here on a clear day you can see one fifth of France. The season starts on the 4th December and the season ends on 30th April and because of the altitude (the resort being at 1860 metres) you are pretty much guaranteed snow throughout the entire season. Alpe d'Huez also has 900 snow cannons to make doubly sure.
